Barca won the Champion’s league again, twice in 3 years. Congrats Barca. kinda expected this result already la.

It’s gonna be an epic day tomorrow.. in terms of my posting in OBG.. it’s the second block test tomorrow morning, AND the end-of-posting exams as well. On the same day. Man.. it’s gonna be tough. the only consolation is that once that is over basically I’m done with the posting. wait. WHAT?? so fast?? I don’t even have time to read sufficiently yet..

It’s a very busy (for me) posting.. first week, there was the elective forms n stuff to be taken care of, second week has the block test as well as protocol presentation.. third week we had the honour of having the surgery sessionals.. and tomorrow, first day of the fourth week, there’s the block test 2 + EOP exams.

WHY so early? well basically it’s because of the Malaysia Medical Association’s Annual conference for medical student thingy that’s going to be held, for the first time, in Melaka.. so basically lecturers are going to be occupied from Thu onwards..

Good news? yeah but the college decides that non-participants should not be let off so easily.. So instead we have to go to the wards and do ward work for both days. pffft..

I guess it’s their way of making things fair for those who are involved with the conference, whether the committee or the participants.. And yeah I do need the extra ward-work time to learn the subject, since as the P2S1 exam looms in Sept, I need all the practice I can get during official class hours. (note : official class hours. I’m NOT going to clinics after hours =P)

Oh well. Time to hit the books. Gahh.. How I wish it was to hit the sack rather than to hit the books xD

It is very ironic that for a future health care provider that medical students in general don’t lead a healthy life-style (including yours truly)..

How does one expect to advice patients when one doesn’t even follow one’s own advice? hmm

Wesak Day

It’s wesak day today. Happy Wesak Day

It’s also one of the very very few mid-week breaks for the rest of the posting. After that it’s just full speed all the way until end of semester 8 where P2S1 exams loom..

Nightmare.. So totally need to kick into hardworking gear and not lazy mode.. =S any tips?

Perhaps one factor to help would be most of the shows I watch has reached the season finale e.g the 3 CSIs, Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, while others like Human Target, Lie To Me and Breaking In got cancelled.. T.T It’s a good sign I suppose. Encourage me to study more rather than watch more shows.

BUSY!

finished Surgery posting last week. Kinda miss it now. It wasn’t so bad afterall. The current group have it easy, where Prof MV went off for a month’s leave!

Anyway I’m on OBG posting now. Which is really packed and in turn very very busy n tiring! There are 8 cases to be submitted in 4 weeks, meaning every Friday we have to submit 2 cases! man.. Surgery posting 8 weeks submit 8 cases still acceptable la.. but this? 4 weeks need to submit 8? Plus there’s like damn lot peripheral postings this time e.g. OPD, OT, Labour room.. there’s hardly enough time to clerk cases at the wards, let alone getting 2 complete case sheets!

Man.. and the posting needs a lot of printing. The CISS system in my printer isnt cooperating like it should. pfft.

Changed the blog template and design after such a long time.. finding the blue theme quite boring indeed. =P Not that I expect a lot of traffic here but.. It’s for myself.. hehe.

Also, I’ve removed the Chatbox since there has been only comments by spambots.. Pretty annoying having to go there to remove all the posts by them. So.. if anyone has anything to say, please drop me a message in the form of comment eh? thanks!

Trusty-ol’-Dell

My Inspiron 6400.

Has been with me since January 2007. Through ups and downs since then. It’s already 4 years and what, 4 months old?

Last Saturday it had a problem with the keyboard. As a result the laptop was stuck in the Dell boot screen for more than half an hour. Was sad to see it be in such condition after such a long time. Eventually it was revived after disconnecting the faulty keyboard.. And now it is dependent on a USB keyboard for it to function.. Sigh. No more portable system. And looks a bit pitiful. Like a terminal stage cancer patient with multiple metastases to the liver and lungs and bones. And brain. You get my idea. But even at this stage it still bravely fights on, day after day. *touched*

At least it lives on. =) Hopefully for some more time la. Since there’s really no budget for a replacement.

Was feeling kinda annoyed because for 2 wednesdays in a row I had to get wet to get back.. Last wednesday worse than today but still.. Annoyed.

.. it seems. since the last I posted an update here. probably after my harddisk crashed in feb I havent been updating, until now.. finally had the mood to set up Windows Live Writer for my blog again.. hehe =P

Several things has happened, will update if I have time. Currently I’m in surgery posting. Busy as hell. Plenty of things happening every day, every week..

It’s the first post for the year of the Rabbit! My year! haha

it’s already the 4th day of the Chinese New Year. Means it’s the day I have to leave home n go back to Melaka. 4 days sooooooo short la… sigh.

Anyway.. wishing my readers a happy and prosperous year ahead! =)

It’s already the last day of January?? wow time flies man.

Starting first day of Medicine posting at Melaka. Had PBL without prior notice = poor pbl. ah what the heck.

Tomorrow got Medicine block test. Damn lot to cover. sigh. after that followed by 5 (maybe 6) hours of lecture. Gosh. havent packed at all ler. =S

So many things happened too. will update soon.

Looking forward to go home!

Weekend ended

And a new week starts! the second week of 2011. The second week of medicine posting.

It’s only the second week and yet I feel like such a long long time has passed. pffft. so tiring the posting at Muar.

Must try and get through! 2nd week means 12 more days of full day posting at Muar!

Well actually the posting is very very short. Medicine is a very vast subject, and to cover it within 8 weeks of clinical posting needs a LOT of motivation. Need to be motivated. No time wasting allowed. =S

Officially 24 days ++ until I touchdown at Kuching International Airport on Chinese New Year Eve. Gonna be back for 4 days. Short, yet hopefully can make full use of this short break.

Oh. Also sent my Nikon D3000 for servicing and clean-up. Gonna take over a month for the process, including logistics. I think a big chunk of the time is taken by logistics. What to do, not at KL mah. If not I can send it straight to Nikon service centre and get a quote immediately. Ah well.. hopefully things will work out fine. AND it wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg to get it cleaned..

As a routine..

Starting fresh, in a new posting. Medicine. 4 weeks at Muar first before continuing the next 4 weeks at Melaka GH.

 

After 16 weeks of posting I think it’s time to take out the stethoscope n use it d.. hehe.

Boxing Day

Great. Christmas is over. Sure doesn’t feel like it’s christmas, especially with case sheets to write, log books to submit, and to study for viva on monday.

about slightly more than 5 days left remaining for 2010. Time to review the year’s resolution? and make new ones for next year? argh after end posting la.

Ophthalmology end posting in the coming week. Assessments on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Busy week ahead.

After that will be a busier start to 2011, kicking off with Medicine posting at Muar. highly energy-demanding postings to be expected.

The snowman made an appearance in AEON Jusco. But different from other snowmen this one is not made of snow.

It’s made of small plastic bottles!

So I’m guessing it should be called plasticman rather than a snowman? xD

This snowman has even got Malaysia book of Records certification, for being the biggest snowman made of plastic bottles, in Malaysia.

Ophthalmology

In ophthalmology posting now. Entering 2nd week of the posting. Man there’s a lot more work to do compared to ENT. Patutlah people call ENT as Easy-No-Tension posting. Or the ORL (Otorhinolaryngology) as Orang Rilek dan Lepak.

Geez. Gonna be a tough week ahead.
