because of their brilliant idea of “demarcating” hostels, we have to move back to our old hostel, the one we stayed in when we first came to Manipal, and had to move out of after the first 6 months. And now, after almost a year of letting us staying peacefully here, all of a sudden this notice comes.. and we have to shift hostels.. AGAIN.

AGAIN.

This is some conspiracy i tell you..

or.. it could be that it is for our own good.. see, with more shifting hostels we’d get to exercise more, and with exercise we can lose weight.. and be healthy!

if it’s that effective, then why not we MOVE EVERY SINGLE GODDA**ED WEEK? oh and since first year students have classes on Saturday, we can always hold it on Sundays! sorta like a gotong-royong of some sort!

So, MAHE hostels.. Lets MOVE EVERY SINGLE WEEK OF THE YEAR!

i forgot to highlight on the other point.

since we’re supposed to move on the EVE OF CHINESE NEW YEAR / FIRST DAY OF CHINESE NEW YEAR,

we should make it an effort for the WEEKLY shifting to specifically on :

1. New Year’s day
2. Deepavali
3. Gandhi’s birthday (perhaps?)
4. Republic day of India (oh wait it’s the same day as CNY this year)
5. Christmas day
6. Hari Raya, including Hari Raya Haji and Aidilfitri
7. And all other days people celebrate

well whatever happens happens, and..

nothing can be done about it anymore i guess.. What to do, we’re minority here. and it’s not good to create trouble, not at home, not to say at other ppl’s country.. and also, there’s like 1 year left, maybe a little bit more, if I pass all my exams without problem..

just hope that they dont screw with us again after this.

i think, even the patience of saints have limits.

Hooray!  it’s 2009!

hmm..

okay i admit i was 4 days late.. but in my defense at least i posted on the dying hours of 2008 eh? =P

well life goes on as usual, dont really have the New year feeling. Still feels old. nothing new. Dunno la. perhaps because of 1st jan still got class n all.. boring boring..

And the first 4 days of 2009.. nth special.. played a friendly match against b19 last night, and it’s really friendly i suppose. no pressure in the air. But unfortunately we lost. again. We need  more practice! Night practices feels quite nice actually. not hot n no idiots playing crickets on the court. oh wait there are… IDIOTS…

Anyway..

i have Microbiology PBL presentation tomorrow.. and contrary to first block PBL this time cannot divide. And there will be questions.. damn pressure..

last few hours of 2008

It’s the last day of the year 2008. Few more hours before the new year comes.

There are some countries already celebrating the new year, but there’s still 1 more hour left in m’sia.. and 3 and a half hours here at India.

The end of the year, usually a time to reflect back on the year, about what happened, what have i done, and was i happy with it. All in all, i think 2008 was a great year. at least i went thru it in one piece right? at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.. (yeah whatever..)

Then, it’s also time to plan for the coming year. No major plans, just live life as they come, and improve on the many places that i need to improve on. And, work harder, as Phase I Stage II of MBBS course really really is harder.

Gah.. crap. dunno what to blog about. just know that it’s the last day of the year. must at least upload something. =P

just take this chance to wish every reader, including those that stumbled upon my blog by accident or something,

It’s holiday today.. Because of Lagenda last night. =)

but the holiday cannot be fully utilized, cos there’s a pharmac class test tomorrow, covering topics like alpha blockers, alcohol, and sedative-hypnotics.. Plus there’s micro SDL also tomorrow..

and after tomorrow,

it’ll be time to prepare for micro PBL too.. a long long PBL topic to prepare for.. sigh.. plus micro lab is finally going to begin starting this week, which i hope i will do the lab reports as they come, and not pile them up until the end of the block to do them.. count as new year resolution gua..

and uh..

rumour has it,

block 1 results will be out this week. OMG. what a way to end the year with a bang!

Hello people

Sorry for not updating for such a long time.. since before my micro block 1 paper.. that’s like more than 2 weeks from now already.. I cant say that i have been busy.. cos i havent.. guess i’m just lazy to update that’s all.. and lazy to get a proper blog material for this blog..

What have i been up to? Well after the exams i pretty much have been watching a lot of stuff eg CSI New York, CSI Miami, Knight Rider, House, and now catching up on Naruto..

also have been watching some movies,

Death Race is among the movies i have watched. And i must say this is one fine movie to watch… Highly recommended!

also,

Wanted is also very nice. It’s hard for me to describe it, it’s also a recommended movie for the year..

However.. the same cant be said for

yeah. Disaster Movie. well perhaps i just dont get it. Or it’s just plain not funny… don’t need to waste your time on this one i’d say..

iPod Touch. Should i get one? Tempting… 32GB version should be good enough.. but it does cost a lot.. or should i wait until 2009’s MacWorld.. then after Steve Jobs announce a newer version of Touch, then the 2nd Gen iPod Touch’s price will drop even further?

not the usual 2nd floor of Dr TMA Pai research centre thingy ok? i dont know how many people still read blogs at times like this but.. hey it’s an effort for community message ok? =P

seriously i need a system to remember pharmacology. other subjects i can understand therefore it isnt that hard remembering stuff. Pharmac however is all facts. nothing to understand. just facts you have to memorize. Damn. i cant even spell the drug names right. WTH… i have problem with short term memory.. and of course it will not consolidate into long-term memory if short term memory isnt there.. when i continue reading the subject what i have read, say 20 minutes ago, will be forgotten. like it is overwritten. how ar..

but then doing this makes me grateful that i chose medicine instead of pharmacy when applying for scholarship.. if i had chosen pharmacy instead I’d have gone crazy long time ago.. maybe when start first year that time.

Oh well enough crap for today. If i wish to survive to celebrate christmas this year or sth..

christmas is on 25th december (duh!!) a thursday this year.. and starting second block there will not be any classes on saturdays.. So.. it’ll be off day for thursday, saturday, sunday.. Would’ve been a lot better if Fri is off too eh? *wink wink* (CR if u read this take note of this suggestion yeah =P )

then again, supposedly Lagenda will be held on 28th dec. So.. to prevent students from going away frm manipal perhaps it wouldnt be approved? oh well what the heck, 3 days is better than none!

i’ve gotten myself a new pair of shoes!

hehehe.

actually there was a NIKE 50% sale on ebay.in last week, ending on friday. So the whole thursday night i spent online choosing which pair of shoes should i buy. like, dirt cheap ok? providing they’re authentic nike shoes anyway.. A pair of Nike AirMax 360 costs Rs 2400 after the 50% off.. i wanted to get an AirMax but unfortunately they dont have my size for the colour that i wanted. So, i got myself this instead. hehe.

There was a report on thestar.com.my sunday, with the headline “At least five doctors to suffer from mental woes every month”. At least 5 doctors per month. So every year there will be 12 x 5 = 60 doctors who will go loco. very high number indeed. 60 ppl is like more than half of my current class already ler.

“The mental cases range from psychotic to neurotic. Psychotic cases include delusions and hallucinations, and neurotic behaviour includes anxiety, fear and anger due to the competitive environment,” said Dr Ismail.

Block exam starts on 9th Dec instead of 5th. So basically there’s 9 days to study for 4 subjects, of which i’ve already wasted the 1 day (today), watching House, CSI, 我猜.. there’s 3 more hours left for the night but dont think there’s much to be achieved also. Perhaps can count watching CSI as studying for forensic medicine? haha then I’ll definitely put more effort into it..

No, i’m not refering to the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States, where it is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season.

Today is monday. haha i guess you can guess from the title of this post that this will be a boring post. But i think i should post something la.

Why?

well firstly it’s the microbiology department’s decision to decide to announce that we do not have to submit the SDL and IL books. We don’t have to submit. So why am i making a fuss out of it? cos i very well spent many weekends on copying the stupid SDLs and ILs, that’s why. All the weekends that i could’ve spent watching movies. Or sleeping. Or at least some other more productive things. As mentioned by Yee Chin’s last minute theory post, i suppose doing that will just encourage students (like me) to keep things to an even more last minute? WTH.

Then there’s the class tests. Supposedly Patho class test is on tuesday, and Micro was on Wed. Then who knows all of a sudden patho come in n say “no, i’m not ready for the test on Tues, lets have it on Wed!” another WTH moment. Micro changed to Wed cos they heard Patho is going to be on Tue. AARGH. messed up, like totally. So now there is a high chance patho will be held on Thu, which is like Pharmac presentation day.

my question is,

WHY MUST EVERYTHING COME AT ONCE?

WHY CANNOT TAKE THINGS ONE STEP AT A TIME (ala jordin sparks)?

SIGH.

there’s 8am class tomorrow. The killer announcement of the day. Bah, life sucks..

On the bright side, i managed to finish my journals approximately 45 minutes ago (at the time of typing). Lets see if they decide to announce that journals also no need to submit. Just wait n see.

College Day 2008

it was MMMC’s 11th College day last friday, 21st Nov, and the ceremony was held, as usual, at Hotel Valley View, Manipal..

this time although i didnt go up stage to receive prize or go with a date, still i went along with the guys to tailor one suit =)

 

yeap. new suits. except kai’s, which is the jpa one. =P

the proceedings are pretty much like last year, no thing out of the ordinary, except this year there’s no live webcast.. cos last year according to our dean, there was less than 10 people actually logging on to watch the webcast, and the webcast wasnt clear enough..

M’sian Food Fest 2008 @ Manipal

Last night was the annual Malaysian Food Fest 2008 organized by MSA(malaysian students association) of Manipal. It was pretty awesome, with many stalls selling food.. got satay.. curry mee, chicken rice, ABC, even got Seychelles food! Of course, there were a lot of people there as well.. People mountain people sea, that’s what they say.. haha

kinda reminds me of a smaller scale Kuching fest. Which, subconsciously reminds me how much i miss laksa and kolomee.. Sigh. Must wait until 21st Feb 2009 only will get chance to taste it lo. =(

Kelvin, as MSA representative, also opened a stall, selling drinks. I suppose this stall is the one that earned the most? hehe

I didnt bothered to take a lot of photos, cos knowing my cam’s performance shooting at low light conditions, might as well save battery power right? and also i woke up just 20 minutes before going to the food fest so camwhoring isnt an option too. messy hair. =P

hmm. PBL presentation is on thursday. i havent done anything on it yet. damn. it’s getting near the end of block one of Phase I Stage II of my MBBS course in Manipal Campus of Melaka Manipal Medical College.

It’s not pretty by the way things are going now. I’ve got tons of backlog of things to do, and that’s just homework only.. it includes

1. All the journal reports..
2. SDL (micro)
3. IL (micro again)

these 3 alone is a huge burden already.

Oh and there will be tests next week (Pharmac SDL) and the week after next (Micro),

plus PBL presentations this thursday and the thursday after next.

second year is really no joke. For those who said second year very relaxed one, i suggest you go and have your brain checked, or have someone assassinate the one that told you that second year is relaxed.

screwed up my pharmac SDL test today. nobody else to blame except for me. lalala~ there’s another test this sat at 8am, micro class test. Lets hope i dont screw it up anymore.
