Wow.

Few more hours it will be the end of November, and the start of December.

Feels like the year 2008 passed by just like that. and now we’re down to the last month of the year. Didnt feel like i achieved anything significant.

Oh well..

Block exam starts on 9th Dec instead of 5th. So basically there’s 9 days to study for 4 subjects, of which i’ve already wasted the 1 day (today), watching House, CSI, 我猜.. there’s 3 more hours left for the night but dont think there’s much to be achieved also. Perhaps can count watching CSI as studying for forensic medicine? haha then I’ll definitely put more effort into it..

Black Friday

It’s black friday today.

No, i’m not refering to the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States, where it is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season.

Monday.

Today is monday. haha i guess you can guess from the title of this post that this will be a boring post. But i think i should post something la.

Why?

well firstly it’s the microbiology department’s decision to decide to announce that we do not have to submit the SDL and IL books. We don’t have to submit. So why am i making a fuss out of it? cos i very well spent many weekends on copying the stupid SDLs and ILs, that’s why. All the weekends that i could’ve spent watching movies. Or sleeping. Or at least some other more productive things. As mentioned by Yee Chin’s last minute theory post, i suppose doing that will just encourage students (like me) to keep things to an even more last minute? WTH.

Then there’s the class tests. Supposedly Patho class test is on tuesday, and Micro was on Wed. Then who knows all of a sudden patho come in n say “no, i’m not ready for the test on Tues, lets have it on Wed!” another WTH moment. Micro changed to Wed cos they heard Patho is going to be on Tue. AARGH. messed up, like totally. So now there is a high chance patho will be held on Thu, which is like Pharmac presentation day.

my question is,

WHY MUST EVERYTHING COME AT ONCE?

WHY CANNOT TAKE THINGS ONE STEP AT A TIME (ala jordin sparks)?

SIGH.

and..

there’s 8am class tomorrow. The killer announcement of the day. Bah, life sucks..

On the bright side, i managed to finish my journals approximately 45 minutes ago (at the time of typing). Lets see if they decide to announce that journals also no need to submit. Just wait n see.

College Day 2008

it was MMMC’s 11th College day last friday, 21st Nov, and the ceremony was held, as usual, at Hotel Valley View, Manipal..

this time although i didnt go up stage to receive prize or go with a date, still i went along with the guys to tailor one suit =)

 

yeap. new suits. except kai’s, which is the jpa one. =P

the proceedings are pretty much like last year, no thing out of the ordinary, except this year there’s no live webcast.. cos last year according to our dean, there was less than 10 people actually logging on to watch the webcast, and the webcast wasnt clear enough..

then i realized how pretty manipal was that night. cos the next day was KMC’s convocation. so lights were everywhere. it was nice..

M’sian Food Fest 2008 @ Manipal

Last night was the annual Malaysian Food Fest 2008 organized by MSA(malaysian students association) of Manipal. It was pretty awesome, with many stalls selling food.. got satay.. curry mee, chicken rice, ABC, even got Seychelles food! Of course, there were a lot of people there as well.. People mountain people sea, that’s what they say.. haha

kinda reminds me of a smaller scale Kuching fest. Which, subconsciously reminds me how much i miss laksa and kolomee.. Sigh. Must wait until 21st Feb 2009 only will get chance to taste it lo. =(

Kelvin, as MSA representative, also opened a stall, selling drinks. I suppose this stall is the one that earned the most? hehe

I didnt bothered to take a lot of photos, cos knowing my cam’s performance shooting at low light conditions, might as well save battery power right? and also i woke up just 20 minutes before going to the food fest so camwhoring isnt an option too. messy hair. =P

PBL

hmm. PBL presentation is on thursday. i havent done anything on it yet. damn. it’s getting near the end of block one of Phase I Stage II of my MBBS course in Manipal Campus of Melaka Manipal Medical College.

It’s not pretty by the way things are going now. I’ve got tons of backlog of things to do, and that’s just homework only.. it includes

1. All the journal reports..
2. SDL (micro)
3. IL (micro again)

these 3 alone is a huge burden already.

Oh and there will be tests next week (Pharmac SDL) and the week after next (Micro),

plus PBL presentations this thursday and the thursday after next.

Time flies. It really does. It’s already 5th week of first block. Which means that half of block 1 is almost over. And, it also means that Block exams is coming soon. ARGH!

dammit.

second year is really no joke. For those who said second year very relaxed one, i suggest you go and have your brain checked, or have someone assassinate the one that told you that second year is relaxed.

Sigh.

screwed up my pharmac SDL test today. nobody else to blame except for me. lalala~ there’s another test this sat at 8am, micro class test. Lets hope i dont screw it up anymore.

On the side note..

there’s going to be the first MMMC inter-batch games tomorrow. Basketball.

What i did today..

today we learned our first clinical skill of 2nd year.. Intravenous Injection! well actually it’s more towards drawing blood la. no drug to inject into the mannequin also. And drugs are expensive. Fun experience! poke and you get blood! lalala~

Anyway.. can’t spend much time on blogging. I have a massive Pathology PBL presentation tomorrow, and the portions are very very much more compared to last year. Oh man oh man.. need 2 mug.. @.@

I started watching it on sunday, and i have to admit, this is the type of drama that i would like.. talking Mustang.. nice eh.. and it transforms! =P so far i only have 3 episodes.. hoping for the next to be released ASAP.. hehehe..

Long overdue update..

Sorry for not updating anymore about the trip. seems like the previous post about it is very very long. and a lot of details i also forgotten d. so rather than posting everything here, which would obviously mean super long loading time, i’m just going to highlight the major events here, with the rest of the photos i’m going to upload them onto facebook. I suppose that’s the way to save everyone’s time..

Life has been pretty busy so far. It’s only the start of second week of school, and there’s already a lot to study about. Summore there’s a Chinese Orientation organized by batch 21 to welcome batch 23 chinese juniors this saturday on 18th Oct. Then next week there will be couple of SDL plus PBL. Hectic.

Gotta go now. It’s lunch break and there’s Microb SDL later on at 2pm. Which i’m so totally lost on what i’m supposed to prepare about. Simple topic, classification of Bacteria and bacterial growth curve, but the info are very scattered. Duno how to organize ar. sienz

probably will continue on the trip update next week after the orientation is done and PBL is over.

Sorry for the lack of update on the trip, i have been watching dramas + anime + movies like crazy lately. Cos i thought like once school starts i wouldn’t have the time to watch it like this anymore.. ? who knows. Sorry.

And the other reason for the lack of update is that Blogger has updated the UI. which is very inconvenient for me to do photoblogs. Cos i can no longer cut & paste photos. I can only drag them. which like takes a long long time. So.. I’m trying windows live writer, hoping it can provide a more convenient method of blogging. Offline blogging is really cool. No need to depend on the connection.
